Frederick Lee Woolley

Picture title: Portrait of Frederick Lee Woolley. 1995. Commissioned by King Edward VI School, Southampton.  Oil on canvas. Size: 32" x 26" (81cm x 66cm). Sold
Frederic Woolley was a long-time accountant and financial adviser, and later benefactor to King Edward VI School. He was advised by the board of governors that they wished to commission a portrait of him for the school, and he should seek an artist to execute the work. He was a member of the Carlton Club, St James's, London, and whilst on a visit there he saw my newly completed portrait of Lord Tweedsmuir and then enquired about the artist, thus he contacted me and asked if I would take on the work.
