The flowers were gathered fresh in the early morning, right outside
our house on the
mountainside in Spain. There is an abundance of
stunning wild flowers in the region.
The fruit was added to this
arrangement making the whole set up a feast of colour,
which I love
to work with. I spent the day in my element just painting one after
another.
This was the best of the bunch.

I set this still life up in my studio after gathering these beautiful
poppies from the hedgerows
in Spain; quite a rare sight. There was very
little time to capture their beauty as they
start to wilt almost right away after picking. The fruit was added to
balance the composition.

This was a commission for someone who wanted flowers from her own
garden in the painting.
She brought them to my studio for me to set
up as a still life; the fruits were added to complete
the balance of the
picture. This was the result of several attempts before I was
satisfied. My client
was delighted with it and ordered a further two
pictures to
make up a set for her dining room.

Bluebell Woods

The sight of a bluebell wood is just mesmerizing. I am fortunately
surrounded by them in
this part of West Sussex so for a short time, three weeks usually. I
can be seen out and about
with my camera taking as many digital shots as possible so I can
work from them in my studio.

A semi abstract of poppies I painted in situ whilst living in Spain. I
have used a loose
style of painting for this, as it was a sketch for a larger work yet
to be completed.

fabulous place to visit. I painted this
using photographs sketches and memory as reference. My main concern
was to
keep everything fresh and simple so I worked fast and loose in
Watercolour.

Woodland and Bluebells

This lovely woodland near my home is inspiration for many
paintings. I
particularly enjoyed painting this again. Using a very loose
watercolour
technique with some wet in wet and some dry brush with a
few glazes to add depth.
